ah the yearning

A very sweet Mama from my mother's group gave birth to a divine sweet squishy little baby girl last Saturday.  I guess all mothers go through this time.  Wondering if one should or could have another baby.  Feeling that yearning to make your family grow.  I am so blessed to have had my own little squishy one. But you know, the monthly flow starts again and you start counting the days.

Hmmm.  But I am coming up to being closer to 50 then 40.  I have nothing to compare to, but I am so tired.  My body aches and I feel that somedays I wish I had more energy and vitality to keep up with my little one.

I am so excited about my son growing up , and being a fine young man.  I have a little weep sometimes and wish him a little brother or sister.  But more often I have clear visions of us being great friends.  Visions of us being travel buddies.  Going to exotic and adventurous places together such as Patagonia and Bhutan.  Being a witness to his emerging life and all its possibilties.

Words cannot really express my gratitude.

Linking in with Maxabella again this week.  Thank you.

Great photo!

I'm very clucky myself at the moment. We are going for number 3. I always said I would never have a baby in my 40's, it's too old...

Well we will see. ;)

Lovely post, Jill :)

Babies are so hard to resist when they're that small and sweet, aren't they?

Have a wonderful weekend!

Hi Jill,
Your post gave me a lump in my throat. You're such a lovely mother. You want another baby because love is a never full cup. There were 8 years between my first and second and there are so many advantages to having only one! The time factor is huge, you can really study the veins on a leaf under a little microscope or take your time and really show them how to drag pine cones through thick paint without the siblings wanting to get in on the act, you can read for hours, tea can be late, hotel rooms for 5 are hard to find, you have time to co-ordinate clothes, you can take photos and assemble them into stunning frames on a wall that you've painted in your 'Spare' time! I'm in jest here a little but you get my gist.
I can see you and Che on a slow boat somewhere unexplored, eating mango relish on BBQed flat bread having the time of your lives!
Have a relaxing (siesta) weekend,
Vickixx

a photo like that is enough to make anyone think about it.

I do have three, but with my youngest 14 months I am looking forward to the point where they are all at primary school and we can really enjoy life together, walks on the beach, etc different stages bring different joys.

I'm sure he'll have wonderful friends.

ohh they are definitely hard to resist!
I know the feeling, sometimes I look at little ones & want a 3rd, then other times i don't. it feels like we aren't complete, but then it does, does it ever feel complete 100% though.
ahhh, they are just soo darn cute, how could you not resist ♥

Jill, just wanted to say that I have taught so many pregnant women and you traveled incredibly graciously through those nine months. You and your story were inspiring. I so wished you still lived close by as I have a friend and student who is your age and recently had her first (and probably only) little boy.

I know you would both connect so beautifully.

Traveling with Che sounds delightful. x

I rarely get clucky - I get nostalgic, but this practical brain of mine knows that all that soft, peachy yumminess comes at a physical price that I just can't pay any more. I am happy with my lot, as I know you are with yours. x
