words

Words.  Getting them right.  Sometimes they fail you and the less said the better.  With all the good intentions unwittingly they can be hurtful.  You learn so much about yourself.  Then rushing in and trying to fix things.  In a deep hole.

More learnt by doing rather than saying.  Does this ring true for you?

On a lighter note, this little piggy went to Market:

Tonka truck from garage sale on route.  So good to be able to just walk there.  But little man no longer wants to be in the stroller, so more room for storage.    Lots of fresh yummy produce.  Seedlings for our vegie patch.

Raining today.

Heavy in contemplation.

Enough said I think

grateful for his father

With all the changes and challenges grateful that he is still so hands on.  Grateful for those early morning cups of tea in bed and the eagerness to get the day going.  Grateful for the constant chatter about new adventures to be had.  Grateful for asking directions when it is something that I seem to dread.  Grateful that he has endured all my negativity as he is often in the firing line.  Grategul for his love for his son and their special bond.

Thanks Maxabella

Once again, thanks Dada, we love you.  Xxxx.

my creative space

Here I am brave enough to join along with kootoyoo and her crafty tribe.     I have been dabbling a bit with crochet chains and re learning stitches from my early childhood.  Just thought making some home made dishcloths would be a good start.  As with any beginner getting the tension and finishing off  right seems to be the hard part.

I am very excited about my vintage finds with this outdoor setting.  I found the table at a garage sale about 6 months ago and have been on the lookout for some cheap chairs that would match.  Yesterday drove past a seconds shop and did a double take.  Asked best price and got a good deal.  Really happy how they blend together.

It has been raining here a lot but there has been little pockets of sunshine that make the autumn leaves glimmer.

Have a lovely thursday.

thrifty storage

In an ongoing attempt to get organised and be comfy, I put my name on the kitchen dresser above.  Our kitchen is cosy, but the glasses are in with the cereal and coffee mugs are on the kitchen bench.  Everytime  I sneak into Dirty Jane's I have to restrain myself from putting my name on so many lovely vintage rustic gems.  Che really loved the old horsie.  The dresser gets delivered this Friday.  Marty doesn't know yet.

Have discovered that our house that we lovingly restored and sold last year is being sold again.  Don't know why but this makes me feel sad and I am feeling regretful about selling.  It was such a labour of love restoring what most people would have considered a knock down.  But then we were in mortgage stress.  I would not be spending all his precious time with my son.  My days are now blissful.  I have to remind myself that I used to cry  a lot in the car on the way to work.  We have learnt so much and now have a bit more nouse and skills for when the time is right for us to purchase again.  In the meantime, yes being comfy is pretty good.

bush

We have been doing a bit of bush bashing of late.  Great to get out with bub in pack on back and stride out.  Dada has a habit of taking us off the path to find special vantage points.  The dogs love it.  The old boys get a new lease of life. We have'nt done the camping thing yet.  We tend to want to go places where we can take the dogs too.  Looking forward to maybe being in the dry in the Kimberley soon.  Wonder how little chap will be sleeping out in a swag?  Think he will probably be in ours.

The days have become instantly shorter.  I am really liking hardly working and being at home in that special time of the day.   You feel the chillness starting to seep in.  Quick get the clothes off the line, everyone inside.  Early tea, warm bath and into bed by 6.30pm.  Yeh!

far from the madding crowd

This week marks the end of daylight savings here in NSW.  The morning was quite chilly but the afternoon was glorious.  After my morning session in the Practice and when the baby awoke we bundled all the gang into the car and headed out west to the escarpment of the Southern Highlands.  Through a dirt track, old dairy country, and through numerous gates where you need to get out of the car, hold open and then close behind you, we ended up at this old abandoned slab hut.  Views across  Wollondilly Valley to Kanangra Walls of the Blue Mountains.   Perfect place for a picnic.  Now there  are beef cattle roaming around.  Lots of wet steaming cow pats to watch out for.  But thankfully this time of the year, no flies.  Imagine what it would have been like living there 100 years ago?  A beautiful and calming way to end the week.  I hope you had a lovely end too.

Linking in with Maxabella for more happiness and notes of gratitude.

Post script 18th June 2011:
I awoke and thought about this trip this morning.  It is so cold here  now and I remember sitting in the warm afternoon glow feeling so peaceful.  Hence rewinding at the fibro today as it is a bit of a love post.  There are lots of other interesting memories there too.
