grateful for

1. When your teething toddler eventually falls asleep when you need to drive 460km in one day.

2. Arriving safely at the house in Broken Hill where we will be staying for 3 months.  Awaiting us was fresh clean white sheets, the kitchen stocked with fresh milk, bread, breakfast cereals, good coffee and tea.    There is something to be said of modern homes.  Clean lines, loads of storage,  light and space.  I am usually drawn to old cottages but being here gets one thinking.

3. Starting a new job on Monday.  Feeling very nervous.  What if no one likes me and I let them down.  They have been saying how excitied they are that I have arrived.  Do you ever feel like a fraud?  Or is that a woman thing?  Anyway I am very lucky to be given such an opportunity and to be so looked after.

It has been a little while since an official grateful post.  Great to be linking in with Maxabella again today.

What a big journey you have all taken! Agree, I always feel like a fraud in my work and often have to stop and pinch myself at how lucky I am to be doing something I love.

Good luck on Monday. I'm sure you will be as amazing.

Hi Jill..I don't really think of Mount Isa and white sheets and a modern house in the same sentence..thank you for jolting me out of my type casting little thoughts! I have faith in your ability to be a valuable part of your new workplace and to conquer every challenge.

It's lovely when they sleep...

I am a convert to new houses. That's something I never thought I'd say when I was growing up in a 100+yo terrace in Newtown!!

The Workaholic is a builder though, so I got a taste for them when he kept moving us into his latest projects. It is the storage and how easy it is to clean everything. Having left a new one 12 months ago for a 1950s double brick with no storage (and a river running throught the garage when it rains), I am salivating over the thought of building a new house with walk in linen cupboards...

Enjoy the house and the experience, I'm sure they'll love you!

I've been thinking about you Jill and am so pleased to learn that you've arrived safely and that someone caring had the essentials in place to welcome you and your little family.

I'm sure you will be welcomed with open arms tomorrow and everything that you have to offer will be appreciated.

Biggest of happy hugs!

xx Felicity

Dearest Jill,

You have been welcomed already with open arms. Of course they'll like you! I'll bet my next mortgage payment that they will fall in love with you and hold onto the bumper bar as you leave town!
You may even return in time, life's funny like that.
I've lived in new houses also and love them too, but the old wins out by a tad.But it's all relative, you'll return home a much wiser lady in every way.
Blogie hugs,
Vickixx

Hope your first day was a breeze. i'm sure they loved you and i know exactly what you mean about feeling like a fraud. i used to feel that every time i got a pay rise.

you give me hope for our new house. i'm so worried it will lack all the charm and appeal of the old places that i have always been drawn to.
